HR Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE

Kennedys is a 45-year strong, established company providing project works and complete industrial maintenance services under one roof, including a range of quality plumbing, asbestos, environmental, electrical, and engineering services.

You would play a key role is assisting the Directors and Senior Management team in achieving profitability by ensuring all issues relevant to staffing, employment and performance are managed efficiently.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • With Directors identify recruitment requirements and source candidates to fill vacancies in a timely manner, and champion the employment process for all new staff.
  • Assist in managing the performance and development processes for all staff.
  • Coordinate with Directors the bi-annual performance review for each staff member with the relevant manager.
  • Provide advice to managers and staff on employment conditions, counselling and termination of staff including exit interviews and determining employment trends.
  • Develop HR policies and procedures to ensure the consistent management of staff employment conditions and entitlements in line with Fair Work Act and other legislative requirements.
  • Work with the senior management team to identify strategies for talent management, succession planning and reward and recognition of staff in order to maximise staff retention.
  • Take reasonable care and cooperate with any initiatives or actions taken to protect the health and safety of both yourself and others in the workplace, and report all accidents, incidents and hazards to a supervisor as soon as is practicable.
  • Adhere to all OHS and Anti-Discrimination Legislative requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources with minimum of 5 years generalist HR related experience.
  • Excellent organisational & time management skills.
  • A great communicator at all levels of the business.
  • Be able to demonstrate experience managing performance improvement plans, ER issues and grievances, providing advice and recommendations.
  • Strong working knowledge of HR legislation, with the ability to apply it practically and develop aligned policies and processes.
